Jennifer Lopez is showing the world exactly how to handle an awkward question with total grace.

The multi-hyphenate star, , stopped by the Today show on Monday, Oct. , to chat with host Craig Melvin about her highly anticipated musical film, Kiss of the Spider Woman. But while the focus was on her triple-threat performance, the conversation took a personal turn.

Melvin, , didn’t shy away from the elephant in the room, noting that J.Lo’s personal and professional worlds collided in a major way during production.

“In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce was also finalized with Ben,” Melvin said.

Lopez didn’t flinch, laughing off the directness of the question with a quick, “There you go! Look at this guy!”

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on Aug. , —the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding—and the pair officially finalized the split this past February. However, Affleck remained an executive producer on the project, leading to plenty of buzz on X and TikTok about how the exes would navigate the press tour.

Lopez was quick to give credit where it was due, proving there is no bad blood when it comes to their craft.

“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made,” Lopez told Melvin. “And I will always give him that credit.”

She added with a shrug of resilience, “And yeah, things happen. You have to keep going.”

The Bill Condon-directed film actually served as a form of therapy for the actress during the transition. Lopez admitted that the movie’s theme of “escapism” hit close to home during her difficult year.

“It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives,” she shared. “Doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life as well.”

When Melvin suggested the film might have actually “saved” her, Lopez didn’t hesitate: “It did, it did!”

While she famously played the titular role in ’s Selena, this film marks the first time fans will hear Lopez’s own vocals in a “proper” movie musical. And for those hoping to see her take the show to the stage, J.Lo dropped a major hint.

When asked about a possible Broadway run, she teased, “There has been some talk about that.”

Whatever happens next, it’s clear J.Lo is back and stronger than ever.
