Is This the Next Wonder Woman? Stunning New Art of Adria Arjona in the Iconic Costume Sends DC Fans Into a Frenzy

The search for the next resident of Themyscira is officially reaching a fever pitch!

Ever since James Gunn announced a total reboot of the DC Universe, fans have been dying to know who will step into the legendary boots of Wonder Woman. While Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the Amazonian warrior remains one of the most beloved parts of the former DCEU, the “Wonder Woman ” cancellation has left a massive opening in the upcoming DCU Trinity.

Now, a stunning piece of fan art by artist Felipe Illa is going viral on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), making a very strong case for one particular actress: Adria Arjona.

The Hit Man and Andor breakout star has long been a top pick for fan-casting, but this new concept art brings the vision to life in a way that has the internet doing a collective double-take.

In the viral image, Arjona swaps Gal Gadot’s modernized armored skirt for a classic, retro-inspired look. Featuring the iconic blue shorts adorned with white stars, a minimalistic tiara with a bold red star, and shorter boots, the design feels like a perfect blend of comic book history and modern flair.

“This is exactly what the DCU needs,” one fan commented on X. “Adria has the presence and the look. James Gunn, are you watching?”

While David Corenswet has already been spotted on set as the new Superman, the casting for Batman and Wonder Woman remains a tightly guarded secret. So far, the only confirmed project set in Diana Prince’s world is Paradise Lost, a prequel series for Max that explores the origins of the Amazons long before the superhero’s birth.

The lack of official news has led to a digital “casting call” where names like Ana de Armas, Alexandra Daddario, and Katy O’Brian are frequently tossed around alongside Arjona.

However, Arjona’s supporters point to her rising star power and her ability to balance action with gravitas as the reason she should be the one to wield the Lasso of Truth.

Interestingly, James Gunn has already shown a penchant for “classic” vibes. His new Superman suit famously brought back the red trunks, leading many to speculate that the next Wonder Woman might follow suit with a more traditional, star-spangled outfit similar to the one seen in the viral fan art.

While a “blink-and-you-miss-it” cameo of Wonder Woman appeared in the animated Creature Commandos series, Gunn has warned fans that animated looks aren’t always a : match for live-action.

For now, the throne of Themyscira remains empty—but if the internet has its way, Adria Arjona might just be getting a call from DC Studios very soon.
