Gal Gadot may play a superhero on the big screen, but in real life, she credits her husband, Jaron Varsano, for being the wind beneath her wings.
The Wonder Woman star’s long-standing romance with the Israeli businessman has become a favorite among fans, often going viral for their public displays of support and adorable “girl dad” moments. While Gadot saves the world in blockbusters, Varsano has been her steady “rock” for nearly two decades.
The pair’s origin story is just as cinematic as Gadot’s films. They met in at a “chakra/yoga retreat type of party” in the middle of the Israeli desert.
“Something happened from the first moment we started talking,” Gadot previously told Vogue. The connection was so instant that she was worried about calling him too soon after the retreat ended.
Varsano, who is years Gadot’s senior, was just as smitten. He famously told her on their second date that he wouldn’t wait more than two years to propose. He kept his word, and the couple officially tied the knot in .
Before he was walking red carpets, Varsano was a heavy hitter in the world of real estate. He and his brother Guy notably built the luxury Varsano Hotel in Tel Aviv.
However, in , he made a major life change to support his wife’s skyrocketing career. He sold his entire real estate portfolio so the family could relocate to Los Angeles. “You’re a developer,” Gadot recalled telling him. “Develop movies.”
He did exactly that. The couple launched their own production company, Pilot Wave, in . They’ve since collaborated on projects like Heart of Stone, proving that business and pleasure can mix if you “put your egos aside.”
