Gal Gadot may be a superhero on screen, but she recently faced a real-life battle that left her “scared to death.”
During a sit-down on the March episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the -year-old actress revealed the terrifying details of a health crisis that occurred while she was months pregnant with her fourth daughter, Ori. What doctors initially dismissed as a “nasty migraine” turned out to be a life-threatening situation involving three separate brain clots.
The viral moment has sparked an outpouring of support on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), as fans praise the Snow White star for her vulnerability and her urgent plea for women to advocate for their own medical care.
“I was months pregnant and it was my th baby. This time around I had massive headaches that completely put me down,” Gadot told host Drew Barrymore. The pain was so debilitating that Gadot recalled being unable to see or hear, spending hours a day in bed with a hot water bottle on her head.
Despite the severity of her symptoms, Gadot says the medical professionals she consulted were slow to take her concerns seriously. “I saw different doctors and neurologists and they said, ‘It’s probably a nasty migraine,’” she explained.
It wasn’t until Gadot’s mother stepped in and insisted on an MRI—an ask the actress says was previously ignored—that the truth came to light.
“We were rushed to the hospital. I had a major brain clot,” Gadot shared, adding that the discovery was actually of three separate clots measuring up to centimeters. “If I had gone through a spontaneous delivery, I would not have been here.”
The situation moved at lightning speed from there. Gadot was rushed into emergency surgery and baby Ori was delivered “within two hours.”
The Wonder Woman star, who shares daughters Alma, , Maya, , and Daniella, , with husband Jaron Varsano, originally kept the drama private when she announced Ori’s birth in March . At the time, she simply noted on Instagram that the “pregnancy was not easy.”
Now, Gadot is using her platform to shed light on how rarely these issues are discussed. “Three out of , pregnant women will have a brain clot,” she noted, urging viewers to trust their instincts. “Always advocate for your health. Always. Listen to yourself, advocate for your heart. If anything, you just over-checked yourself, right? That’s okay.”
As Gadot prepares to celebrate her th birthday, she is looking at life with a renewed sense of gratitude—and a reminder that even “Wonder Woman” needs to speak up to be heard.
