Jennifer Lopez has conquered the charts, the dance floor, and the rom-com world—but is a superhero suit next for the superstar?
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law director Kat Coiro is officially putting a call out to the universe (and Kevin Feige) to bring J.Lo into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The director, who recently sat down for an interview with Tara Hitchcock, didn’t hold back when asked about her casting wish list.
“Oh, well, my dream is to bring J-Lo into the MCU, so… Put that out there,” Coiro shared with a smile.
The buzz started instantly on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with Marvel fans debating whether the “Jenny from the Block” singer should play a hero or a high-stakes villain.
Coiro and Lopez already have a winning track record together. The duo worked closely on the romantic comedy Marry Me, where Lopez starred as a pop icon who marries a stranger in the crowd (played by Loki star Owen Wilson).
During the filming of Marry Me, the two formed a tight bond. Coiro even took to social media before the film’s release to post a heartfelt tribute to Lopez’s work ethic and talent. It seems that professional spark has left Coiro hungry for a Round —this time with more capes and CGI.
The idea of J.Lo joining the MCU isn’t actually as far-fetched as it sounds. In fact, the internet practically willed it into existence years ago.
Back in , Lopez went viral after posting an Instagram photo showing off her incredibly toned biceps. Fans immediately began photoshopping her green, fan-casting her as She-Hulk long before the Disney+ series was even announced.
While the role of Jennifer Walters eventually went to the talented Tatiana Maslany, the MCU is famous for its A-list cameos. From Harry Styles popping up as Eros in Eternals to Miley Cyrus voicing a character in Guardians of the Galaxy, there is plenty of room for a star of Lopez’s magnitude.
Currently, She-Hulk is making waves for its meta-humor and star-studded appearances, featuring Mark Ruffalo, Jameela Jamil, and the highly anticipated return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
Adding a powerhouse like Lopez would be a massive “get” for the franchise as it continues to expand. Whether she’d be throwing punches or playing a cosmic queen, one thing is for sure: the fans are ready for the “J-Lo-U.”
